Planning the Perfect Summer Adventure

The excitement of planning for a summer trip is unparalleled. We had grand plans to visit Jasper for a couple of weeks, immersing ourselves in the stunning landscapes and outdoor adventures. However, our plans took an unexpected turn when I logged on to make reservations the day they opened. Imagine my shock when I found myself 20,000 people in line! It was clear: Jasper was a no-go with only a single day available out of the 14 we hoped to enjoy there.

Switching Gears: From Jasper to Banff

Not one to be easily defeated, I quickly shifted gears from Jasper to Banff. Early on the morning of bookings, I was prepared to seize the opportunity, but in classic fashion, I dropped the ball and forgot to attempt the reservation. Talk about a head-scratcher! It seemed like we were back to the drawing board once more. The challenge of securing a spot for our summer trip was turning into a bit of a puzzle.

A New Itinerary: The Road Ahead

After much brainstorming, we finally settled on a new itinerary that we’re genuinely excited about. We are heading to Edmonton, then making our way over to Saskatchewan. From there, we’ll travel down to Southern Alberta, enjoy some beautiful nature, and eventually loop back up to Calgary before making our way home. This trip might not have started as we envisioned, but sometimes, the unexpected paths lead to the best adventures.

Not only will we be reviewing campgrounds we stay at along the way, but we will also be featuring some amazing Harvest Hosts experiences. Each place has its charm, and I can't wait to share our delightful finds with you all. Stay tuned for more updates, and watch for videos and highlights uploading to our YouTube channel soon!

This summer trip might not have gone according to plan at first, but with our new route and experiences waiting ahead, I am more excited than ever. Adventures are often about the journey, not just the destination, right? So, here’s to embracing the twists and turns along the way!
